A Day in the Life: Haley Slough, Business Development Manager

At Entec Systems, business development isn’t about quick wins. It’s about long-term partnerships. As a managed IT services provider focused on proactive support, strategic planning, and cybersecurity, Entec works closely with organizations that view technology as a driver of growth, not just a line item in the budget.

For Haley Slough, Business Development Manager, that mindset shapes everything she does. From uncovering operational challenges to building meaningful relationships with decision-makers, her role centers on helping companies rethink what IT can and should do for their business.

Here’s a look at a day in Haley’s world, in her own words.

Getting Started

As a Business Development Manager at Entec Systems, my focus is building strategic partnerships and identifying companies that need reliable, proactive IT support.

Day to day, that means meeting with decision-makers, uncovering operational pain points, and collaborating with our internal team to shape solutions that make sense for the business. I spend a lot of time asking questions — about growth plans, security concerns, compliance requirements, and downtime issues — because the right IT strategy always starts with understanding the bigger picture.

I also work to shift how organizations think about technology. IT shouldn’t feel reactive or frustrating. It should feel strategic. It should move the business forward.

My role is equal parts strategy, relationship-building, and problem solving — and that’s what keeps it interesting.

Technology I Can’t Live Without

My laptop! It keeps me focused on the task at hand and allows me to stay connected, whether I’m in a meeting, reviewing notes, or collaborating with our team. It’s simple, but it’s essential.

A Leader I’d Love to Learn From

If I could have dinner with any tech or business leader, it would be Whitney Wolfe Herd.

She built and scaled a tech company in a highly competitive space while reshaping the brand narrative along the way. That combination of resilience and positioning is impressive. It takes vision to stand out in a crowded market — and even more discipline to scale successfully.

Life Outside of Work

After work, the best way for me to reset is a workout and time with my family. Movement clears my head, and being home keeps everything in perspective.

When I get the chance, I also love painting, taking photos, or working on creative projects. I don’t always talk about that side of myself, but creativity fuels the strategic thinking I bring to work. There’s more overlap between art and business than people realize.

Three Words That Describe Me

Intentional. Persistent. Direct.

I value clarity — in communication, in expectations, and in outcomes. When companies partner with Entec, they deserve transparency and a plan they can trust. That’s how real partnerships are built.
